Decomposers are effective microbes that decompose or break down of organic material. The microbes secrete various enzymes such as cellulases, hemicellulases, chitinase that degrade organic components like cellulose, hemicellulose, starch, lignin, lipid, and phenol etc. These microbes utilize carbon, amino acids and sugars as a source of energy (to keep on eating) and nitrogen to build protein in their bodies (so they can grow and reproduce). They obtain energy by oxidizing organic material, especially the carbon fraction. Decomposition is an important process because it allows organic material to be recycled in an ecosystem. TBS has formulated unique consortia of effective bacterial and fungal cultures for composting organic wastes. Addition of these cultures to organic wastes advances composting process.
